Normally we would be inviting you to join us for a fun day of golf and mayhem; instead we are regretfully informing you there will be no traditional golf outing for 2009.

We appreciate all the support each of you give by attending and contributing to the outing each year; this event could not be successful without you. However, these are indeed rather difficult times for everyone and in light of this financially difficult climate, we would like to relieve a little of the burden on our faithful and avid supporters.

With a “nest egg” in the scholarship fund, reserved for such occasions, we feel having an alternative event this year is the most appropriate option. (2) $2000 scholarships will be awarded this year leaving enough of a balance in the account to cover 2010’s scholarships. The July 30, 2010 golf outing at Glenbrier Golf Course in Perry would then begin rebuilding the nest egg and scholarship coverage for 2011 and forward.

Anyone wishing to donate money to the scholarship fund this year is welcome to do so. Please contact Kim Dennison or Lynn Coleman at 517-625-4919 for more information.

The 2009 alternative event:
A luncheon to award the scholarships to this year’s recipients will be held at Glenbrier Golf Course on July 24, 2009 at 11 o’clock; the cost will be $10 per person. Individuals desiring to golf may do so at your own expense ($22/ person) after the luncheon.
